AI4K Player Privacy Policy
We do not collect personal information
AI4K Player is a local video player that runs on your PC. It needs no account and contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting components. It does not send your videos, file names, settings or any other information to us or to third parties.
Your videos are processed on your PC
Playback, AI upscaling, frame interpolation and export all happen on your computer. The videos you open and the files you export stay where you put them.
Data kept on your PC
- Settings such as interface language, volume, selected profile and subtitle style.
- Inference engine cache: AI engine files prepared for your GPU so later starts are faster.
- Diagnostic log: a record of how the app ran, which can include local file paths, your GPU model and error messages. It stays on your PC and is never sent automatically.
- Trial check record: the latest date the app has seen, used only so that turning the PC clock back cannot extend the trial.
This data is stored in your Windows user's app data folder. For the Microsoft Store version, Windows deletes it when you uninstall; for other versions you can delete the %LOCALAPPDATA%\Live4K folder yourself.
When you contact us
If you email support@xtgstudios.com, we use your message only to answer it. Before sending a diagnostic log, check it and remove any paths or details you do not want to share.
Free trial and purchase
The free trial and purchases are handled by the Microsoft Store. The app reads the Store license saved on your PC through Windows to tell whether it is in the trial or bought, and the Buy button opens Microsoft's own payment window. Your payment details and Microsoft account are handled by Microsoft; we never receive them. Microsoft only gives us sales reports that do not identify you.
App stores
If you obtain the app through the Microsoft Store or Steam, that store's own privacy policy covers its handling of your data.
Changes
If we ever add a feature that goes online or handles personal information, we will update this page first and explain it in the feature.
